In Memory of Rudy Santiago

We are all saddened over the recent passing of our colleague and friend, Rudy Santiago. Rudy suffered a massive heart attack on Sunday, March 3rd and left us prematurely; leaving his family, friends , coworkers and community in sadness and heartbreak.
Rudy was a genuine soul. He will be remembered for his cheerful spirit, sense of humor, and more importantly, his zest for life . His passing has left us all at a loss and he will be greatly missed.
For his family, this devastation is compounded as one of Rudy's children, all of whom he loved dearly, was left paralyzed by a bullet. As you can imagine, aside from the tremendous grief and shock, this family now has to pick up the pieces and move forward. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with them at this time. But we want to be present in a more tangible way. Having Rudy's body transported back to New York and given a dignified burial as well as finding more suitable accommodations for his daughter as she adjust to a life of new limitations, will carry a hefty cost and we would like to rally in support of their journey as a memorial to Rudy.
