This page has been set up to remember and celebrate the life of Roy, a much-loved and familiar face to so many people in Victoria Park.
Roy was known by countless dog walkers and park-goers as the kind, gentle man who spent hours each day walking through the park with his loyal dog, Jack. He always had time for a smile, a chat, or a kind word, and he became a quiet but constant presence that brought warmth and friendliness to the park community. He was one of those people who made Victoria Park feel like more than just a park — it felt like a neighbourhood.
Roy’s passing has left a real gap, and many people have expressed how much he will be missed.
All funds raised here will go towards a fitting community-led tribute to Roy. This may include a memorial bench, a plaque, or a small gathering or wake to celebrate his life — the final decision will be made collectively by those who knew him and wish to be involved.
Thank you for helping us remember Roy and honour the kindness and companionship he shared with so many of us.
