In memory of Robina Catchpole and Rachel Storey
In memory of my beautiful friend Robina and my beautiful niece Rachel, who I miss so much, who sadly passed away.
My Sahara Challenge: 11th November
The first leg of my journey will be a flight to Marrakesh from London then I will be taking an 11 hour bus ride to take me to the gates of the Sahara where I will embark on a 100km trek, carrying a backpack, with all the nessasary items that I will need over the four days I get to complete the challenge. It is anticipated that the temperature will reach 37 degrees during the day and drop to zero at night.
Why am I doing this?
Although I know this is going to be mentally as well as physically challenging I have decided to participate in this challenge because one of Rachel's wishes was to cross the Sahara if she ever got well enough to do so, sadly she never got to complete her dream.
And also because there is no one in this world who deserves a cruel death, I believe we need to support charities, just like they support families who are in need of their services. There are no words to adequately describe how much macmillan nurses devote their lives to those in need and make your life a little bit better. Their compassion and support are remarkable.
Your Donation
As a gift for my 50th birthday, my wonderful husband has funded the Sahara trek, which means every penny you donate will go to charity
It means a lot to me that you have taken the time to read this and I would appreciate any donation you may be able to make, no matter how small
Thank you
