This morning at 9:12 am, the world lost a great man, and heaven gained an even greater angel. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting my grandfather, Robert Sanford, knows that he was everyones grandpa, or everyones uncle Bob. The most selfless man ever, he would do anything for anyone. He was the most loving man, and taught me everything I know about respect, and fishing of course. He never complained, he always had a smile on his face, and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need.
The man is a legend. Who gets struck by lightning and lives to tell the story? His strong, loving, and giving spirit has impacted everyone. No one could be unhappy around him. Yes, he yelled at me a few times for tracking mud into the house after a muddy day of four-wheeling, but you're damn right the man was there to wipe my tears when I cried. He was a father to SO many. He will be in all of our hearts forever.
This fundraiser is created in memory of my grandpa. Our family suffered a great loss, and my grandmother lost her soulmate, and our entire family is working together right now in order to give Grandpa the celebration of life that he deserves. Anything helps, even a share, or a comment about your best memory with Bob. We all know Grandpa loved his Facebook.
He is not gone, he will be with us all forever. He is at peace, and doing everything he loves right now, while also watching us all making sure we take our hats off at grammas dinner table, and keeping us all together as a family. There was no better feeling than having the whole family together, and all the grandkids begging their parents to spend the night at gramma and grampas house. I am sure all my cousins can relate, that being around grandpa was such a free feeling, we learned how to build tree houses, bite lites, break beaver damns, drive skidoos, and fourwheelers, everything. He gave his entire life to his family, and did everything to make us all so happy, and he was so happy doing it.
I love you Grandpa, we all love you. We are going to take care of Grandma, and there is nothing you need to worry about. You taught us well. We'll take it from here.
