In memory of Rob

During the evening of Sunday October 29, 2023, a devoted member of our climbing community received a horrifying call that her father had tragically passed away unexpectedly. Her biggest fan was now gone. This devastating news has not only left Maddy Morris without her father, but also leaves her in need of a supportive lift (and frankly, a whole lotta’ love from her family and friends). This is where we come in!

You see, Maddy’s father was a traveling man, much like a nomad, requiring her to pick up the scattered pieces across many state lines. As you can imagine, the costs associated with lawyer fees, funeral expenses, and travel will result in outrageous out-of-pocket expenses for this young climber and is quite a large financial burden. Not sure of the long-term financial strain, but her initial upfront costs are somewhere to the tune of $20,000.

I thought it would be great if we could pull together as a climbing community and help soften the financial blow as well as provide Maddy with some love and comfort during this difficult time. If you haven’t had a chance to get to know Maddy, she was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Has been a part of the climbing community for 14 years, graduated from the University of Houston, has been a climbing coach for Momentum climbing gym for 5 years, recently began route-setting for Momentum, a fierce competitive climber, and an all-around great friend to all.
