In memory of Robert Michela

Robert Michela, a devoted grandfather, father and husband was involved in a serious car accident, being struck by an unlicensed driver, while driving his 9 year old grandson home from school, just one day after the birth of his 5th grandson. While his grandson only suffered minor injuries, Robert was left on life support with catastrophic injuries. While the medical professionals did all they could, there was no recovery possible, and it was decided to give him dignity and mercy.

Robert's wish to be an organ donor was honored, and he saved several lives through his generosity. His giving and loving spirit shining, even after his death.

Robert loved to live. From the frequent visits to sing his heart out at karaoke bars, performing in Driving Miss Daisy at The Smith Center, coaching little league, his elaborate Halloween decorations, and to somehow being a background dancer for Demi Lovato at the MGM Grand. Most of all Robert loved his family, his wife, his children, his five grandkids and the many friends he made along the way as he lived his life with light and love.

Donations are being accepted to help offset the expense of ten days in the trauma ICU, ambulance cost, funeral expenses and the uncertain status of auto insurance payments due to the other driver being unlicensed. Robert's family would be grateful for any support you can provide.
