We are devastated to share that my father Robert Michael Maguire passed away on Tuesday January 5th, 2021.
He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend loved by all. Robert was always positive, a fighter, and always put his family and his friends first. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, his son Michael Robert Maguire, and his daughter Amber Lee Waddell.
He was the greatest husband. Mom and Dad's love story is one for the books. They are the picture perfect image of soul mates. Everyone who was around them together can agree that they were meant to be together. He was the best Dad anyone could ever ask for. He worked so hard for our family and loved us unconditionally. He was adored by his grandchildren and was the most amazing Papa.
Everyone who knew Dad would agree that he was one of a kind. He was the big, loud, funny, passionate guy who cared deeply about his friends and family. He made a difference in so many lives.
Our lives turned upside down in 2018 when Dad was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He had surgery to remove the cancer but we found out that it had already spread throughout his body. He was then diagnosed in 2019 that he had Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer. Dad did his very best to fight. He went to every appointment, had chemo, and did his very best to intentionally live every day as if it were his last. He spent time with family and friends. He also spent his time doing the hobbies he enjoyed like working on his Bronco and HAM Radio (N6GTO).
A HUGE piece of all of us is missing. But we know that he is no longer in pain and is no longer suffering with Cancer. He passed peacefully with his wife by his side which is what he wanted in the end.
Like so many of us, Dad made no end of life preparations financially. He did not have life insurance. Money that they did have saved has been used over the past two years to get them by as Dad was unable to continue their in-home business.
Please consider helping out our family through this difficult time. All donations will be going directly to his wife Kimber and children to help with end-of-life expenses as well as rent while Kimber and Michael are in California going through their items. Donations will also be assisting Kimber and Michael with their moving expenses out of state in the following months. We love and appreciate all of you who have done so much for our family over the years. He was so grateful to be surrounded by family and the best group of friends anyone could ever ask for.
Please keep our family in your prayers
