In Memory of Rhiannon

On April 19th 2023, our beloved friend Rhiannon Samantha Walmsley suddenly passed away.

Rhiannon was an integral part of the LGBTQ+ community in Lancaster including the Queer Boots Collective. She was so loved by so many and we are devastated to hear about her passing. The world is a darker place without Rhi's presence.

In Rhi's memory we are holding a fundraiser for Mermaids, an organisation supporting LGBTQ+ young people. Our next event will be held in Rhi's memory where we will also be taking donations on the door for the charity.

More information about Mermaids: Transgender and gender-variant children and teens need support and understanding, as well as the freedom to explore their gender identity. Whatever the outcome, Mermaids is committed to helping families navigate the challenges they may face. Our support reduces isolation and loneliness for gender-variant and transgender children, young people and their families and provides the tools they need to achieve the best outcomes. We also work with supporting professionals to create safe and accepting spaces.

More information about Queer Boots: Queer Boots is a not-for-profit community collective hosting LGBTQ+ events in Lancaster. We fundraise for a number of causes through our events and support LGBTQ+ individuals within the area.
