If you have not heard, we are devastated to share that on August 16, 2022, in the early morning, Rene Ochoa was tragically taken from our family in a house fire. Rene's wife of 45 years, Lori Ochoa, was able to make it out of the house, but Rene was not. The house and all belongings have been lost.
Rene was a beloved son, father, husband, grandpa, brother, cousin and friend. Anyone who knew Rene knew that he was a man of many words and loved to talk about life growing up here in Beaumont with friends and family. He brightened the lives of so many with his infectious smile, belly laugh, luxurious long hair, sense of humor, and selfless means of carrying himself.
Rene has raised in Beaumont his whole life, attended school here in Beaumont, and ended up working for the City of Beaumont for 18 years. He met his wife of 45 years here as a teenager, grew up together, got married and had three children, Micheal Ochoa, Ashley Ochoa and Robert Ochoa. Between their three kids, he had five grandchildren.
We are asking for donations to go towards his funeral service, burial, and anything Lori needs, as all is lost and cannot be saved. At this time, there is no set date for the service. Once set, our family will announce so that all who loved him may gather and celebrate the amazing life he lived and loved.
We are also asking that anyone who has stories, pictures or anything they would like to share please send us a message through this or directly through family and friends.
We want to include as much as possible in a slideshow when the time comes.
Heaven truly gained an angel, and we will all miss him dearly.
