Family and Friends…

On September 1st, 2025…

We lost a Son, a Brother, a Father, a Nephew, a Cousin, an Uncle, a Best Friend, a Brother in Blue…

It is with profound sadness and pain in our hearts that we announce the passing of our Beloved Reinaldo Rodriguez. We are at a loss for words to describe this unimaginable tragedy and the heartbreak it has caused upon our family.

Rey… was literally a ray of sunshine with a smile that would light up the entire room. He was loyal, so supportive, kind, honest, very caring, trustworthy, darn adventurous, extremely charming, compassionate, genuine, so damn funny, generous, and understanding. Oh yes… did I mention funny!! All these qualities and more that anyone who came across him would notice in an instant.

Rey was everyone’s Best Friend,

But most importantly he was a Family Man.

Nothing was more important than his Parents, his Sister, his Nephews and then his son came into the world… Aiden. His son was the best thing that has ever happened to him. Aiden was everything and more. The bond between Father and Son was indescribable.

Rey too had a second family…

His NYPD Blue Family. He dedicated over 21 years of his life to serve the communities of the City of New York. He was a Brother's Keeper and had the backs of many during some tough adversities, extremely challenging and beyond stressful times. He always made sure he and those he worked with always came home safe.

This past month of May, Rey finally retired from the NYPD!! He was so happy to finally be home and spend time with his wonderful large family, his bright-eyed son, his beautiful girlfriend, and all his cherished friends. Unfortunately, this beautiful soul's retirement plans were cut short, along with those of the woman whom he loved dearly, Mirella. We ask you to keep her family in your prayers also. This is difficult for them too.

In closing, we ask that all who loved and cared for our dearest Rey, to find it in their hearts to spread love through this page to help his devastated family by removing some of the financial stress off of them. We owe that to Rey!! And we all know, he would do the same for anyone reading this. Any funds not exhausted after his services will be donated to his next of kin, Little Aiden.
