Dearest friends and family,
We are saddened by the untimely death of our beloved Sreynoch Meng, an older sister to us whom we call “bong” in Khmer. She left us at only 36, leaving her 3 young children, girls aged 9 and 5, and a baby boy at only two weeks with her husband.
As we grieve and plan for her burial, I am writing to you all to ask for financial support and your prayers in this difficult time.
There is so much to say about our beloved bong. She was a wife, an older sister, a niece, a daughter, and a friend to many. She was a ray of sunshine. She loved to take silly pictures, play dress up and make TikTok videos with her daughters, and recorded silly moments with family and friends. She was selfless, generous, and she loved with her all. Her contagious laugh and silly nature still echoes in our minds.
I am sure you all are curious as to what caused her death, and how she took her last breath.
During her third trimester, our bong was admitted for Covid-19, developed pneumonia due to Covid, and the day of her death she was diagnosed with a very progressive and a very difficult to diagnose cancer called Choriocarcinoma of the placenta. It is a rare and fast growing cancer that occurs mostly pregnant women. In order to protect her baby, she refused biopsy and cancer treatment until after the birth of her son (she had him via C-section at 36 weeks). She went through multiple procedures to diagnose her cancer and they all came back negative. On her last couple of days, she was admitted into the ICU due to respiratory failure, was intubated and induced into coma and in the end, died from a brain aneurism that have spread to her brain, kidneys, and reproductive system. Even until her last breath when the Lord took her home and relieved her from suffering, she was selfless and demonstrated the true love of a mother to her child, choosing the child to live rather than herself. Because everything happened so fast, we were not able to say our goodbyes and to remind her how much she means to us.
We are asking the community’s help, financially for the cost of the funeral service and emotionally for comforting her family and friends. We appreciate and thank everyone in advance for any support and comfort during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Hdin Bulu.
We love you bong.
May you rest in peace.
You will forever be in our hearts.
