Hello, my name is Vanessa and this is my dad, Raul. He was diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease. He started showing symptoms at 57 years old and lived with it for 11 years. This horrible disease has been in our family for generations and it keeps taking our loved ones.

My dad wasn’t perfect, but he was still my dad. He did the best he could. No one deserves to go through such pain for so long. I’m glad he got to live a life surrounded by his family who was there for him until his last breath.

My mom was his wife and caretaker. She also endured so much while taking care of him.
