Rami was a loving son, brother, and friend. He was a gentle giant that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Our family moved to Macon, Georgia when Rami was only a year old. With his infectious smile and loving personality, it was evident from a very early age that Rami would make an impact on everyone. His love for football began at 5 years old, continued throughout his schooling, and led him to play for Howard High School. It was truly his passion.
Not only was Rami committed to the team and his teammates, he was loved and equally loved all of his classmates, all kinds of people from all walks of life. Thus we were not surprised as we celebrated his selection to Homecoming Court his Senior year.
At 16 years old, Rami's generosity was put on display. He was featured in the Macon telegraph for coming to the rescue of a stranger whose car broke down on an incline. With his truck, he pulled her to safety and refused to leave her side until her car was fixed. This was the first of many instances when Rami went out of his way for friends and strangers alike. All those that loved him can agree that you could call Rami any day, any time and he would drop everything to be by your side.
We are blessed to have had him in our lives for the last 23 years and we are honored to have felt the love from everyone since his passing.
Our family would love to honor his legacy by naming a room in the Navicent Health Beverly Knight Olson Children's Hospital in Macon, Georgia.
We have set an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 to have his name permanently placed on a room that will comfort children in their greatest time of need, just as Rami did in his life.
We will be coordinating a number of events in his memory for this cause in the coming months.
We are working directly with the Navicent Health Foundation.
