Raj Shrestha (Class of 2014 - Johnson/CIPA) passed away on April 13th 2021, leaving behind his wife, Maria (Class of 2014 - CIPA) and their newborn, Jay. We knew him as a Johnson and CIPA classmate, thoughtful student, dedicated alumnus, and dear friend.
True to his adventurous spirit, Raj was a Fulbright scholar, worked in South Africa as a part of his MPA program, was a Johnson Emerging Markets Fellow, and inspired all of us to be global citizens.
Only a few days after bringing Jay home, Raj was unexpectedly hospitalized. While the cause is yet unknown, his departure is sudden and an unbelievable loss.
There was so much he was looking forward to - and we all know how eagerly he was looking forward to his journey into parenthood!
Raj touched the lives of everyone around him - with his warmth, his generosity, his spirit. Knowing that there are many who knew and loved him, we are raising money as the family deals with this loss.
The proceeds for this fund will assist with memorial costs, support for living expenses, and an education fund for Jay. Any amount you donate will be sent directly to Raj’s wife, Maria, as the beneficiary.
