It is with a heavy heart that Rachel's family have given us the sad news that Rachel passed away in the early hours of March 2nd 2021 after a short spell in hospital.
For those that know Rachel, she will be remembered for her passion for life, her energy, her hilarious sense of humour, her no nonsense attitude, her straight talking, her fierce loyalty to those she loved, her generosity and her willingness to do anything for anyone. There was nobody quite like her!
The two most important things in Rachels's life were her family and her ponies. Rachel leaves behind three beautiful children who she was so incredibly proud of. Always speaking about them with such warmth and care. Rachel was a fabulous mother. From the moment her first child Kyle was born, she fell into motherhood like a duck to water and gave all 3 children an incredible childhood of fun and adventure.
Rachel's passion for her ponies was beautiful. They were a huge part of her life. She would take on the craziest horses and give them a second chance when nobody else would. She had no fear whatsoever and despite being nearly killed by several of them, she showered them with unconditional love, care and compassion.
I know Rachel would be incredibly grateful to know that her friends and family have come together to support the most important things in her life.
Rachels children are desperate to keep the ponies as that's what she would have wanted. It enables them to continue her passion and legacy. They have grown up with these ponies and to lose them as well as their mother would be devastating for them. However, without Rachels income, they will struggle to cover costs until they can find a long term solution to pay for their upkeep. The children have lost 3 generations in the last couple of months having lost Rachel, Debbie and their great grandmother. I am therefore hoping we can do something to relieve some of the pressures they are currently facing so as not to add to their grieving process.
The children also have to now find funds for rent, funeral costs and other expenses that at such young ages, they didn't expect to have to contemplate.
We all know that Rachel would give her last pound to someone to do what she could to help, so now is our time to support the people and animals she loved in return.
The full amount raised will go directly to Rachel's children for the care of all the ponies and animals as well as costs mentioned above that Amber, Kyle and Chloe now have to cover. Any additional funds raised will be split between the three children to go towards supporting their future as Rach would have wanted to make sure they were all supported.
