In Memory of Rachel: Donate to Theatre and Memorial
Donation protected
On April 30th, 2025, we lost an angel on earth and gained one in heaven. My beloved sister and friend to so many, Rachel S. Green, passed away peacefully in her sleep as she was flying from Minneapolis to London for a much-anticipated trip to the UK. Rachel had spent the past couple of years recovering from an unexpected illness, relearning to walk, and having to relocate back to her hometown in Minnesota to recuperate. She exuded unyielding strength and courage at even the most difficult times. She was finally writing again (side note: Rachel was secretly a brilliant writer) and on her way to London to further research her historical fiction on Eleanor of Aquitaine. She fell asleep peacefully on her flight on her mother’s shoulder and, for reasons forever unknown, never woke up. We are at the greatest loss as we piece together a life without her physically present but forever with us. Many ask what they can do during this time. Rachel was beyond selfless, always taking care of everyone around her and trying to guide people to the goodness in life, be it traveling, enjoying a play, or a gathering. During her time back in Minnesota, she revisited her love of theatre with the Lakeshore Players Theatre. It gave her great joy to be involved in something she loved.
Because of this life it restored for her, I would like to set up a donation in memory of Rachel for the theatre. She had planned to attend the Gala on May 15th and donate on her own. As a united effort, I would like to make that donation for her to continue her care and kindness as she wished.
This experience working as a family for closure has been different but beautiful in many ways. Due to her death mid-flight, there have been multiple parties involved I never imagined I would ever interact with:
The coroner's office of West London
The US Embassy in London
Leverton & Sons Funeral Services in Camden
Golders Green Crematorium in London
With Golders Green Crematorium being Rachel’s last stop in London before her return home next week, where she is scheduled to be cremated at Golders Green on May 8th, 2025, and ashes to be flown back early next week.
In reflecting on her passing, it couldn’t be more beautiful, her journey. The crematorium is the most beautiful place I could ever imagine, and the Golders Green Crematorium forever holds a special place in our hearts, having taken care of Rachel to the end.
We will also be utilizing their memorial services to place Rachel in their book of remembrance as well as a special memorial at the crematorium.
Donations will go towards Rachel’s support for Lakeshore Players Theatre and the purchase of her memorial at Golders Green Crematorium in London.
As Rachel would say, you absolutely do not need to send any money, but if anyone is wondering a place to help, this could be of support.
Thank you.
