Often times we see or read about unfortunate things happening to good people. We usually wonder why and then try to make sense of a bad or unfortunate situation. This is what happened to our now angel, and dear friend, sister, aunt, niece, godmother and daughter Crystal Pauline Shepherd. It was a week ago today our dear sweet Crystal unpredictably received her wings.
As many of you must have realized this was totally unexpected, as I would have never imagined a week ago, I would be receiving a call letting me know my best friend, who was more like a sister, had passed away. I keep replaying the last conversation we had, and me telling her after this was all over, we are going to take a trip out to California for a much-needed vacation. In the midst of this all, it is even more detrimental we are not able to gather and celebrate this wonderful, sweet and kind woman. Which is why at this time, it has been decided Crystal’s body be sent through the cremation process, and we will gather for a memorial at a later time to celebrate her life.
With all this being said, a few others and I have received numerous inquiries on how you can assist, and/or send condolences. I have decided to open this go fund page for the Shepherd family in honor of Crystal. In lieu of flowers, this will give those the opportunity to donate to the family, in which these funds will be used to ensure Crystal is put to rest the best way possible, and for any other medical bills and/or misc. items needed to be taken care of for Crystal, in addition to assisting with a future memorial service.
I do understand this is a difficult time for everyone, do not feel pressured, this is just an avenue for those able to contribute something to the family. Please share this page with others as well.
I would also like to send a thank you to the ‘Southfield High Class of 2000’ for contributing to the family as well.
I end this by saying, as we go our separate ways, and continue our lives the best way we know how, remember to keep the wonderful memories of Crystal close to heart. Whether she was “Big Shep”, “C”, “your bae”, “little sis”, “TT”, or just “Crystal”, know she had an enormous heart, and kept a very special place in it for each of you, so please remember to do the same for her, while keeping her family, and those who also loved her in your hearts.
May our dear sweet Crystal forever be a part of our lives!
Thanks again, no matter how small or big, I know the family will be very appreciative.
Always - Mary Davis (one of Crystal’s best/forever friends).
