He a dream was for everyone to have a home and he was working as a project coordinator at the time. He was very hands-on, always present to support those in need.
After the tsunami hit the Ban Nam Khem area, many homeowners received help from various organizations. However, the people who lived there but couldn’t afford houses were left behind.
I first saw him in a temporary shelter, where he shared his dream that everyone deserved a home. The villagers eventually received land to build their houses, but they needed help from TVC to provide them with labor. The Ban Nam Khem construction project was successful and continued with the development of a second village, which we now call Ban Nam Khem 2.
The P’Sakda I remember always had a big smile on his face; he was cheerful and very kind. Since I left Khao Lak, I followed him on Facebook, and every now and then, I’d order some fishery products from him, which he would send to me.
The news of his passing was a terrible shock, not just to his family but to everyone who knew him.
His funeral is being held at Ban Khem temple, with the cremation taking place on Saturday, February 22nd.
If you would like to contribute towards his funeral arrangements, please see GoFundMe link below.
We hope that we can send him to a place where he may find peace and comfort, away from pain and burdens, where he can sit and raise his glass to us from above.
