In Memory of Peter Morton

This is in memory of a special man we all know, Mr. Peter M Morton.
Peter Morton was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, co-worker, and friend.
Those of us who had the pleasure in working with Peter know this dedication first hand. Peter had a larger than life heart who always strived to make any bad situation into positive one for others. He would always spend the time to talk to anyone. He would always make sure to listen to anyone and talk through any situation. He always thought about the other person and tried to reassure all that he was there if needed. If loved as he would say "hold hands and put out fires" with others.
He was first and foremost a dedicated family man. He was always talking about his family. He was so proud of his wife and kids. He always knew that tax time was a time where he was close to home and he needed to be there at a moment’s notice. He was so proud of his son's efforts at school and how happy he was that he took more after Lisa! His daughter Grace was his heart. Grace reminded him of himself -- full of spunk and love of life.
I will miss the discussions of his garden "s" throughout the years and the comparison of whose tomatoes/cucumbers were bigger. I miss the stories about all the squirrel trapping he has recently done and the re-release into the forest or possibly some neighbors yards were there may/may not been a "disagreement". I will miss the stories of how Matthew knew exactly on how to push his buttons with simple noises and the fact there was no way Peter was any match in Wrestling his son – but he was meaner! I will miss the stories about Matthew driving his grandfather Morton around. I will miss the discussions Peter would have with Grace about doing her homework. I will miss the stories of how Grace was quick to respond and ready to talk back like spunky children to. I will miss the discussions on what the kids were going to get for lunch each day. I will miss the stress of tax year and frayed nerves of getting all the paperwork done by that dreaded date, April 15th. I will miss the stories about his parents and growing up in Durham. I will miss all of the doctor appointments and discussions about bruises and blood draws. I miss the hunting, fishing and lake stories. I will miss the brother’s arson stories. I miss Peter clumsiness...the truck, the pond, the Prius door, the van door, the stairs, and the razor. I will mostly miss the quick wittiness, and his ability to make me laugh and make fun of myself.
But with all these misses, these memories of Peter are alive and well. We shall keep Peter with us daily and see Peter's legacy through his family as they continue forward.
Through all of the ups and downs, trials and tribulations, the happiness, the tears, the joy, and the pain, his family and his work family have been by his side.
So at this time, I would ask all of his past and present work-mates to be by his and his family's side now. I am asking each of you to help the family in any way you can. The funds we raise will be given directly to his family to do for anything they so need or see fit.
Please forward this out to anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Peter if you can.
