Hola, mi nombre es Oscar Vázquez.

Nadie me pidió que iniciara este GoFundMe — lo hago por amor y profundo respeto hacia un hombre increíble: mi suegro. Un padre entregado, un abuelo orgulloso, y un hombre al que tuve la bendición de conocer y llamar familia.

Lamentablemente, este gran hombre ha partido a la siguiente vida, y confiamos en que ahora descansa en paz con nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.

Fue el tipo de persona que daba sin esperar nada a cambio. Un hombre que cargaba sus propias luchas en silencio, pero siempre estuvo presente para su familia, sin importar el sacrificio personal. No era perfecto — ninguno de nosotros lo somos — pero fue un proveedor, un protector, y alguien que tomó decisiones difíciles por amor y responsabilidad.

Fue un abuelo amoroso para mi hija, y de verdad desearía que aún estuviera aquí para seguir compartiendo su fortaleza y su presencia con ella.

Ahora enfrentamos la difícil e inesperada tarea de darle el último adiós — y necesitamos ayuda. Queremos honrarlo con la dignidad y el respeto que merece, y dar a su familia y seres queridos la oportunidad de celebrar su vida juntos.

Si puedes contribuir, sin importar la cantidad, quiero que sepas que significará muchísimo para nosotros. Cada dólar nos ayuda a cubrir los gastos del funeral y entierro, y le quita a esta familia una preocupación más en un momento ya de por sí doloroso.

Hello, my name is Oscar Vazquez.

I wasn’t asked to start this GoFundMe — I’m doing it out of love and deep respect for an incredible man: my father-in-law. A devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a man I was blessed to welcome into my life and call family.

Sadly, this amazing man has passed on into the next life, where we trust he is now resting in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was the kind of man who would give without ever asking for anything in return. The kind of man who carried his own burdens quietly, yet showed up for his family no matter the cost to himself. He wasn’t perfect — none of us are — but he was a provider, a protector, and someone who made tough choices in the name of love and responsibility.

He was a loving grandparent to my daughter, and I truly wish he could still be here to continue sharing his strength and presence with her.

Now, we’re facing the difficult and unexpected task of laying him to rest — and we need help. We want to honor him with the dignity and respect he deserves, and give his family and loved ones a chance to celebrate his life together.
