In memory of PC Simon Underwood
Harrow has suffered a great loss with the sad passing of PC Simon Underwood from
the Mets Police Marlborough and WealdstoneSNT team. A well loved police officer
who was easily recognised by most
residents and shopkeepers in the area.
Simon was an integral part of community in Wealdstone.
Whenever he passed others on the street on his beat he made time to talk and listen to
residents. Many remember him making extra effort to talk to youth providing
encouragement.
Countless communities have come forward
to say how much respected and loved PC
he was. His beaming smile, sense of
humour and warmth was his trademark.
PC Underwood was passionate about
changing Wealdstone and a lot his time spent community policing. He was core part of
Wealdstone Action group working hard to
reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in
area . The change that he and the team
have brought to Wealdstone is
tremendous.
Simon has worked across few wards in the
Borough as a Police Constable and as an
acting Sergeant. Initially starting in the
Borough as a specialist dog officer. Overall he gave 10 years dedicated service to
Harrow, having touched many lives in the Borough.
For this we are thankful.
With PC Underwood passing, we have all
lost not only a trusted officer, but a true friend of Harrow.
We are raising funds for expenses for his
family who he has left behind and also
install a public plaque in his memory in
Wealdstone.
This is the least we can do for his years
service to Harrow.
We hope you will donate to the cause,
no matter the sum, as a way to say
thank you to Simon
