In Memory Of Paul Forges
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Forges on Saturday, August 10th, at just 58 years of age. In late May, Paul was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a relentless form of cancer. Despite his determination and bravery, the disease overwhelmed him, taking him from us far too soon. His beloved wife, Faye, stood by his side throughout this harrowing journey, even as she faced the heartbreaking loss of her father during Paul’s battle.
Paul leaves behind his cherished wife, Faye, and their two daughters, Kiana and Bria, whom he loved deeply and was immensely proud of. Since making Lloydminster their home in 2004, Paul and Faye embraced the community, particularly valuing its educational opportunities for their girls.
Paul’s passion for photography started about 10 years ago, and that led him to start Forges Photography in 2015. He started shooting bands in local venues, and that led him to specialize in low-light photography. He then wanted to capture performances in larger venues, and that led him to create a digital music magazine which not only gave him access to bigger performances, but also allowed him the opportunity to help countless artists gain recognition and to also feature the work of other concert photographers in Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Saskatoon. Though he knew it wasn’t a lucrative endeavor, Paul found joy in the reactions of the performers he photographed and in the challenge of perfecting his craft. As his love for photography grew, so did his love for video work. That led to the creation of Forges Media when he started to specialize in live-streaming and commercial video production.
Paul’s commitment to his community was expressed with his talent and his business. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the Lloydminster Legion Branch #39 couldn’t host their Remembrance Day ceremony, Paul stepped in, live-streaming the event at no charge. He continued this generous contribution for four years, even after the ceremony returned to its original venue. His support also extended to sports sponsorships and his involvement with the Motley Troup Dinner Theatre, where he contributed to their "backstage broadcast" this past Christmas season.
We are reaching out to ask for your help in honoring Paul’s memory and supporting his family during this difficult time. Faye and their daughters never wavered in their support for Paul, focusing solely on his fight without considering the financial burden it could bring. Your donations will go towards covering funeral costs and helping Kiana as she returns to university this fall. Thank you for your generosity and support. Paul was a one-of-a-kind man who built a life and a legacy in Lloydminster that will not be forgotten.
