In Memory of Ghislain Paterne: Aid for His Family

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Ghislain Paterne Olouna Etsinda, after a courageous but short battle with Lymphoma cancer. It's hard to believe that I am writing this message about him, and our hearts are shattered as we come to terms with the loss of such an incredible person our beloved leader, our forever "PRESIDENT," as many affectionately called him. Paterne was a true beacon of hope, compassion, and strength. He was always driven by a desire to make a positive impact, selflessly dedicating his life to helping others. Whether it was through providing job opportunities, offering guidance with immigration processes, or opening his home to welcome new members into the community, Paterne’s generosity touched countless lives. His love for people knew no boundaries whether you were Gabonese, Ivorian, Togolese, Congolese, or from anywhere in the world, his heart was open to all. As we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary individual, we also celebrate the lasting legacy he leaves behind one of kindness, leadership, and unwavering dedication to African communities. In honor of his memory and to continue the work he so passionately believed in, we are launching this GoFundMe campaign to support his immediate family: his wife Sydney, and his children, Ghislyne (Gigi) and Joey, during this incredibly difficult time.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in helping Sydney as she navigates this challenging journey with their children, and it will help keep Paterne’s spirit alive within the community he loved so much.
