This past weekend, our beloved friend Papa passed away unexpectedly. Those who knew him would describe him as funny, caring, loving, and full of life. He was part of so many important life milestones for so many of us. He showed up for his friends. To be his friend was to be his family.

Papa lived with sickle cell disease, but he was known most for his joy, his love, and the way he showed up for others. He made even those he had just met feel welcome, valued, and loved. Papa brought joy to everyone he crossed paths with. Regardless of how you knew him, his passing has been a devastating shock for all of us.

We created this fundraiser as a group of Papa’s close friends to support his family during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses and other unexpected costs as his family makes arrangements and navigates the many burdens that come with such a heartbreaking loss.
