In Memory of Our South Gulf Cove neighbor, Shaun.

To our SGC family and friends, thank you for taking your time to participate in this GoFundMe page and supporting our neighbor during this difficult time. I am heartbroken to share that my neighbor (two houses away) died tragically on MLK Day on the 20th of January at the young age of 42, one month shy of his 43rd birthday. I'm sure everyone heard of the motorcycle accident on Keystone Blvd. and Gasparilla Road, Port Charlotte, FL. Some of you were probably stuck in that traffic and cursing the snowbirds again. As this is a prime case of that.

Shaun left home to go to the Dollar General to get medicine for his wife-to-be (Amanda), as she was suffering from a several days long bad headache. DG is only 8 minutes away from home, yet he never made it there. A PA driver, in the turning lane at Keystone Blvd, heading southbound on Gasparilla Road, failed to yield to Shaun on his motorcycle, turned in front of him, causing the deadly accident.

Shaun was a friendly, good-hearted, and private man who enjoyed riding his Harley and yes, he wore a helmet when he rode to work. The helmet would not have saved him on 1/20/25. He touched many lives with his kindness and family always came first. He was always in communication with Amanda and when she felt it was taking him to long to just go up the street, she did a FindFriend on her phone and saw he was at the hospital.

Shaun worked for a local cement company in Venice, but due to unfinished HR paperwork, Amanda is unable to receive any benefits. Common Law is not recognized in FL, but it is where they moved from. Also, due to this, Shaun's mother is next of kin, leaving Amanda at a loss for receiving anything.

Amanda is a stay at home mom and homeschools her 11 year old son. Unfortunately, with Shaun no longer being able to provide for the family, Amanda is unable to navigate the ongoing financial burdens, including not able to pay the cost for the funeral. She and her son will also have to move out of their rental on Brainbridge Cir.

Please help by donating and sharing this GoFundMe. Your support will help Amanda's family heal, along with other expenses on their journey to healing. Even in his absence, Shaun will continue to protect and serve his family. Any contribution helps, will make a difference and will mean the world to the family as all funds will go directly to Amanda and son during this difficult time.

In addition, you can help by sharing the page and lifting them up in prayers! Local NBC 2 news at 6pm and 11pm news is airing their story on 2/2/2025.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
