Projestus Kagashani (founder of Afrika United - the IFFC’s oldest active team), passed away on August 4th in his home country of Tanzania due to COVID 19 complications. Two months earlier his mother and brother also succumb to the virus. He leaves behind his wife Gema and two children (11 and 13 years old) who are in need of help as Kagashani made all the family income. There has been an outpouring of compassion and support from the football community in Beijing and around the world. If you wish to donate,

About Kagashani
Projestus Kagashani arrived in Beijing in 1994. He loved everything about football, especially the way the sport brings people together. He was the founder of Afrika United; one of Beijing’s most illustrious football teams. Afrika Utd is a mix of players from all over the continent. They dominated the football scene for over a decade and are still going strong. The success of the club is a testament to Kagashani’s character and values. He was always a polite and calm man on the football field. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Off the field, he worked hard to provide for his growing family as a computer engineer. He will surely be missed by those of us who were fortunate enough to befriend him.
