In Memory of our Beautiful Monique

Hello Family and Friends,
We are writing this on behalf of our beautiful angel, Monique, who is now resting in peace. We wanted to share more about her life as a testament to the strength and perseverance that she and those who cared for her maintained throughout her brief but beautiful time with us.
At the age of 3, Monique was diagnosed with diabetes. From that young age, Monique was in and out of the hospital fighting diabetes and other complications that arose as a result. Although she never complained, Monique frequently dealt with seizures, kidney failure, gastrointestinal disease, and bladder problems.
Due to a malfunction of her automatic insulin pump, she went into cardiac arrest twice. It was the second incident that claimed her life.
We're sharing these intimate details to try and bring awareness to the dangers of diabetes, no matter the age.
Although she dealt with much pain and discomfort, Monique did find happiness and peace whenever she went to the beach. She also loved drawing, cooking, and spending time with Bella - her sweet and playful dog.
Her constant companion and selfless caregiver was of course, Mama Dilcia. Their love transcended a mother/daughter relationship, they truly were and are the best of friends.
Always willing to shine a light and help others, Monique became a certified medical assistant and she had dreams of becoming a teacher. Now her mother hopes to pursue a degree in nursing, inspired to help others find comfort and heal through their health journeys - something that would have made Monique smile.
We are reaching out to you all in hopes that we can lighten the financial load that weighs on her mother and father, as the grief alone is already so much to bear.
No matter the amount, anything given will be received with the deepest gratitude and love. Please share this message with any family and friends that may have capacity to help.
Thank you in advance for your love and generosity,
