In Memory of our Ate Resy, a COVID-19 Frontliner
Resy Manalo, or Ate Resy, is a Filipino Nurse working in County Homes, a care home in the UK. She spent her last days taking care of the elderlies as if they were her own family since she lived away from her family.
On 26 April, she was brought to the hospital because of COVID symptoms where she also tested positive. Unfortunately, she succumbed to the deadly virus and wasn’t able to make it. She died alone without her family by her side.
She arrived on the shores of England in 2006 leaving her family behind in the Philippines in search for better opportunities. However, she wasn’t able to bring her family to the UK and she spent her life in this country in the comforts of her friends.
It is so unfortunate that Ate Resy left this world away from her family, without any next of kin by her side. It is sad that even after death, she is still placed in a difficult financial situation especially without her loved ones around.
We are knocking in your kind hearts and in your immeasurable generosity in raising funds.
All proceeds from this campaign will be directed towards the funeral expenses of Ate Resy, financial support for her family and eventual repatriation of her remains to the Philippines.
In behalf of her family, we humbly ask for you kindness.
