Our Hearts Are Broken: Remembering Oaklynn and Supporting Oakley.
Hello, We are Dusty and Marissa Flowers. On December 3, 2024, our family was blessed with the arrival of our beautiful twins, Oakley Starr and Oaklynn Michele. Joy filled our home as our older children, Skylar (17), Maddox (3), and Kaia (8), eagerly anticipated the arrival of their new siblings. Kaia, especially, was overjoyed to finally have a sister.
The arrival of our twins brought an overwhelming sense of love and excitement. Our family, including Honey, Awa, Uncle TJ, and Ari, rallied together to support us as we navigated the joys and challenges of welcoming two new members to our family. We felt truly blessed to have such a strong support system as we began to settle into our rhythm as a family of seven.
On January 15, 2025, our world was shattered when we lost our precious angel, Oaklynn Michele, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This unexpected tragedy has left our family heartbroken and struggling to cope with the unimaginable loss of our sweet daughter.
Oaklynn was a vibrant and healthy baby, and her personality was beginning to blossom. She brought immense joy to our lives in her short time with us, and we cherished every precious moment. We are heartbroken that this precious angel was taken from us so suddenly.
Oaklynn's twin brother, Oakley, was also affected by this devastating event. He required immediate hospitalization for monitoring and subsequent medical tests due to a persistent fever. This unexpected medical journey has added another layer of stress and financial strain to our already overwhelming grief.
We are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time. Your contributions will help the Flowers family cover the unexpected medical expenses for Oakley, as well as assist the family in honoring Oaklynn's memory.
Here are some of the ways donations will be utilized to help the family during this difficult time.
Medical Expenses: To cover the costs associated with Oakley's hospitalization, including testing, medications, and emergency transport.
Lost Wages: To compensate for lost income due to daddy Dusty needing to be with the family while mommy Marissa cared for Oakley in the hospital.
Memorial Expenses: To assist with the costs of the memorial services for their beloved daughter.
Living Expenses: To help cover everyday living expenses during this difficult time, allowing the family to focus on their grief and recovery.
