Oakley Jayne Smith
Born April 29th 2025
Oakley was born with some unique things! She had an extra pinky finger on each had and an extra pinky toe and each foot and also 2 webbed toes one each foot.
52 hours after being born Oakley had to be taking down to children's hospital in Omaha.
Where she got diagnosed with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome which means she could have,
(-Infants with Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome have weak muscle tone
, experience feeding difficulties, and tend to grow more slowly than other infants)
Oakley was also diagnosed with Hirschsprung's disease
Which she had to have surgery for. Oakley had to stay at children's hospital until her surgery date which they had set for July 2nd! During the wait our family was driving back and forth the Omaha to spend good quality time with Oakley!
After a 5.5 hour surgery Oakley was back to her room recovering and doing well. We get great news that we could finally take little Oakley home everyone was so excited we had been waiting a long time for this! We brought Oakley home and everything was going good! We had a follow up appointment with her Dr on Wednesday afternoon and the dr said everything looked good and the very next morning something unfortunately was Not good little Oakley was very sick and my husband and I rushed her to the ER and after 5 hours of them trying to help her
the terrible turn for the worstest that were unfortunately not able to help little Oakley
Heaven gained the cutest little angel
The hardest thing parents have to do we had to say goodbye for now Oakley we love you and will always speak of you to your brothers and sister! They love you so so much Oakley Jayne
