In Memory of Noah Joseph Haifley

As most of you know, my Son and Daughter in-law, Tanner and Kaylee were expecting their first child on May 25th, 2025. From the moment they found out about his little life we were all celebrating! On January 29th, 2025 Kaylee went into preterm labor and Noah came into this world weighing 1 lb, 2 oz., and 11 1/2” long. On January 30th, Noah gained his wings and went to be with Jesus. God knew Noah was too good for this cruel world. And although he won’t be here physically, he will remain with us in spirit and in our hearts forever. We will never stop celebrating this little life that has brought so much joy to our family! We thank you all for your support and prayers.
Thank you,
Nathan and Stacy
Here are some words from his Daddy:
“A letter to Noah
It’s hard to find the words to say because of the pain, anger, and confusion that your mom and I feel right now. On September 24th, 2024 at 0900, Your mom and I found out we were having you. We were nervous to be parents for the first time but most importantly very excited. Our lives were about to change forever and for the better. We held off on telling people about our incoming blessing of you till Christmas time. Our mothers and fathers were going to be grandparents for the first time and it was a special crazy feeling. Your mother and I hadn’t even met you and we already loved you more than anything in this world. We started buying clothes, toys, and planning your room. Planning for the baby shower in March. On January 29 around 6 PM you were born at 23 weeks. Your mom was rushed to the Operation room with no time for an epidural and was put under general anesthesia. I raced to the hospital as soon as I could and probably looked insane how fast I was running into that hospital. I sat in a room by myself with no answers and a million questions. I was angry with god. I kept asking him why this had to happen to Kaylee and I. I didn’t get an answer from him yet. Your mom was out of the operation room after an hour of surgery. Her and I cried together and held each other. Both confused we shifted our focus on you. The medical team spent hours trying to stabilize you so that you could get on a helicopter and fly to Charleston. Around 1 in the morning on January 30th you were stable enough to fly on the helicopter and everything was looking better. You were able to be under extreme attention and care at MUSC NICU. The Doctor came in a little after you left and told us that they didn’t know if you were going to make it through the night. I kissed your mom goodbye and drove up there while your mom waited on an ambulance. We weren’t going to let you leave this earth alone. When I arrived your heart rate was at a 120 and that’s the highest I saw it get. I yelled at the nurses trying to get your mom up there because she needed to be up there. Your mom finally got up there while you still had some fight in you. Your heart rate fell to 40 and the medical team was starting to do more harm than good. Your mother and I decided to let you be in peace and go back to god. We held you in a room alone for the next hour while we wept and rubbed your head. We had so many questions and not enough answers. You climbed that stairway to heaven at 0500 on January 30th. Eventually we left your room to go back to her room to make sure that she was being taken care of too. It felt wrong to even think about eating and sleeping. I had been up for 26 hours and your mom was tired from all of the medications and surgery. I laid down and remember how angry I was with god still and asked why my son. Why’d he have to take my son. As I was falling asleep he told me that his son was special too and they took him. Then I fell asleep.
Your mother and I love you Noah more than anything in this world and continue to mourn but continue to fight as well. We know you’re waiting for us in heaven and will continue to watch over us. I love you so much buddy.”
