Hi All,
My name is Sam and I was one of Niki's best friends. She was the mother of 4 beautiful kids, Faith (21), Haevin (14), Justice (9) and Jusiah (9), daughter, sister, aunt and friend. My brave, fighter of a friend gained her wings on Sunday April 19th after a 4 1/2 year battle with Small Cell Cervical Cancer a very rare aggressive cancer. She went though over 50 rounds of chemotherapy, countless surgeries and hospitalizations, out of state travels for scans and a hail Mary clinical trial. She did not stop fighting ONCE!
You know I remember the first time I met Niki, our daughters were in the same kindergarten class, who now are best friends as well and we were getting ready to go on a field trip to the Huron Human Society as chaperones. We were in the hallway and she started asking me questions about where we were going. I told her we were going to the humane society and she goes, "Oh, I forgot for a minute. Cancer brain." Little did I know that, that conversation paired with a little push from her big sis Julie would be the start of a 3 1/2 year long adventure together. We had so many fun times like running away to the circus with our kids and you being part of that show, getting root beer floats at A&W, Mamma Wine time in my driveway, getting stuck in the foam pit at 242 community center, decorating each other's cars for our birthdays, getting stuck on your new carpeted floor because we just sat there and talked until 1 in the morning, late night trips to McDonald's for shakes and so many countless others that would take me forever to list. I love you my friend and do not worry I will be here for your family and kiddos WHENEVER they need me!
So, with that being said the reason I am setting up this fundraiser is to help take some stress away and help cover the immediate expenses that come with loosing a loved one like getting remembrance urns for each of her children and putting together a small service for her immediate family. This fund would also help with putting together an amazing Celebration of Life Memorial Party (at a future day because of the pandemic/quarantine) which is what Niki always wanted because if you knew her she never wanted anyone to be sad about her leaving this earth, she wanted everyone to celebrate the life she lived. With all of the funds that are remaining they will be put into a trust for her kids. The funds collected will be given to Niki's sister Melissa who is taking care of Niki's estate.
Niki was an amazing bright light that was put out too soon so if you are inclined to help please do so and if not then help me share Niki's story.
