In Memory of Nicholas Hopwood
It is with great sadness that we realize the loss of our friend and coworker, Nicholas Hopwood.
On the evening of June 8th, 2019 Nick was involved in a tragic incident while fishing on the Kitimat river, north of Kitimat.
All proceeds from this fund will be donated to re-establish a local search and rescue capability (a dedicated rescue craft) in support of existing volunteers in the Kitimat area. In addition, the fund will seek to generate far greater awareness and education around the risks associated with use of the Kitimat River.
Nick came to us from the UK to begin his working career. At 21 years old, Nick shared his enthusiasm for work and community involvement.
Nick has left us far too early and will be very sadly missed.
We wish to support Nick's family through this difficult time. With thoughts and condolences for his family & friends. This page is also for sharing memories and providing support for Nick's family.

Thank you to ALL that contributed to Nick. All of these funds will be transferred directly into the Kitimat Search and Rescues bank account. The funds will be used for equipment, training and a search boat that can be used on our Kitimat River. This will enable Kitimat Search and Rescue to have the training and equipment to hopefully save lives. Nick has not died in vain. He is leaving a legacy that will live on in Kitimat ❤️
