Ned was diagnosed with a rare form of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in November 2018. He fought courageously over 15 months enduring a stem cell transplant, numerous clinical trials and chemotherapy, unfortunately none of which were successful. He sadly died on February 19th 2020, aged 22 years, at peace with his own journey but wanting to make a difference.
Through the experience of his own cancer battle, Ned developed a keen interest in leukaemia treatment and research. His blood will also be stored indefinitely so that researchers around the world can work towards a cure for his very own cancer. We will work towards a future that Ned hoped for – a world in which no one needs to suffer through this disease – and he will be there with us while we do so.
We, as his family, will be donating all proceeds of this GoFundMe campaign to the Research team at the Alfred Hospital led by Professor Andrew Wei, which Ned was passionate about supporting.
We would be so grateful for any donations.
