In Memory of Nathaniel John Brion
Donation protected
On behalf of my Sister-in-Law, Leah Tamayo-Brion, I am reaching out to our family and friends to support her in this time of need.
On Monday, April 14, 2025, my brother-in-law, Nathaniel John Brion-whom we all simply call John, suffered a massive heart attack due to a pre-existing condition. He was rushed to the emergency room and taken to the ICU. Before I continue on, I'd like to tell you a little about John and his family.
Originally from Burbank, John lived with his parents before eventually settling in San Diego. He met Leah on a blind date and they quickly fell in love. Together, they are blessed with two wonderful sons, Jonathan and Jason, who are truly the light of John's life. Jonathan is now a college freshman, and Jason is a high school sophomore.
John’s love of sports has always been something he shares with his boys. Whether it’s cheering for the Lakers, Chargers, Padres, or San Diego FC, sports is a frequent and passionate topic around the dinner table. Beyond being a loving father and husband, John is the ultimate handyman. With a degree in engineering, he uses his knowledge not just in his career, but around the house as the family's go-to handyman.
John is known for his calm and gentle demeanor. He treats everyone with grace and kindness. Two simple words in his angelic voice are ingrained in my memory forever, “It’s OK”. Those two simple words will stay with me forever. Though I sometimes struggle to live by them, John continually teaches me the true meaning of patience and peace through both his words and actions. His kindness is quiet but powerful, and it touches everyone around him.
After three weeks in the ICU, Leah and the family made the heartbreaking decision to do what is best for John. His body was telling us it was time to let go. John fought hard, especially for Leah, Jonathan, and Jason, but time was no longer on our side. John crossed the gateway to heaven on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The family feels comfort knowing that John is with the Lord and his father, mother, and baby sister.
The entire Brion and Tamayo families miss him with all of our hearts. Our shattered hearts will never be the same but will be mended through all of your love and support through this tragic time, so thank you! Thank you for taking the time to read about John and we are so grateful to have had the time with him, even as short as it was.
To help Leah with the many expenses ahead, I’ve created a GoFundMe page. If you are able, please consider any amount of contribution to help her through this difficult time. Please also share this GoFundMe page.
