In Memory Of Our Mother

Our mother, Mary, passed away On January 23, 2022, after a short stay at SLU Hospital in St Louis, Missouri. She was admitted with breathing problems and disorientation. She was diagnosed with streptococcus pneumonia that caused a bacterial infection in her blood. She was then started on treatment for the pneumonia and blood infection.

While she also tested positive for covid, we were told by doctors that the covid had cleared her system and was not the cause of the pneumonia. And while they can't say with any certainty, I fully believe she developed pneumonia after being forced to wear a mask at work for many months.

 

She was stable on her own for a few days but then had to be put on a ventilator as it became more difficult for her to breathe. Our family was told by doctors that even on the ventilator she was stable. However, just hours later, around 4AM on Jan 23, she passed away due to what we were told was a pulmonary embolism, or blood clot in her lungs. According to doctors, it's not something they could have seen or anticipated.

 

Our family is simply in a state of shock as this was so sudden and unexpected. Even as I write this over a month later, I still can't believe my mother is gone. I don't trust what the doctors have said, but because of covid, we were unable to be there by her side to know what really happened.
