It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my Father, Mark Symoens, age 50, on January 27, 2026.
We've had some people reach out to see how they can support my family financially during this time, so I started this fundraiser to help with funeral expenses, including the service, burial, headstone, and other costs. If you are interested in helping out, any contribution would mean the world to me and my Grandmother.
Mark Symoens was a man who believed in the value of a job well done and the joy of a long ride. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, on March 26, 1975, Mark carried a distinct charisma and an infectious sense of humor that defined his life. He was a man of action and intellect, known just as much for his sharp mind as for his compassionate heart. To those who knew him, Mark was a steady source of positive energy and a friend you could always count on.
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence." Albert Einstein’s words perfectly captured Mark’s approach to the world. He was a lifelong learner who was happiest when he was uncovering how things worked. As a Maintenance Supervisor at AYR Wellness Inc., he was a cornerstone of his team, blending an innovative spirit with deep technical mastery. His academic achievements at Santa Fe College, earning dual degrees in Biomedical Engineering Technologies and Business Administration with high honors and a 4.0 GPA, were a testament to his dedication and his constant drive to understand the world around him.
When he wasn't solving problems at work, Mark was often found tinkering with gadgets, adding to his collections, or finding peace on his motorcycle. He had a deep appreciation for the mechanics of the world and the simple freedom of life on the road. Yet, the center of Mark’s universe was always his family.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
