Aside from being an amazing Dad, an incredible husband, Dave had a massive passion for dogs, and he never met a dog he didn't like. In 2020 during the covid pandemic he unfortunately along with lots of other people lost his job. A terrifying prospect for someone who has always been a hard worker. We pooled our pensions and purchased a plot of land, five minutes away from our home and that's where Bostyfields Secure Dog Park was created. From purchase to completion Dave spent 8 weeks meticulously planning every inch of its 13 acres. He knocked in every fence post (1500), 3.5 kms of wiring, laid the car parks and kept the grass. The night before we opened we were panicking, we had no idea whether it would work. Dave's response was 'well, we still have somewhere for our dogs'.
He's worked tirelessly since, 365 days a year, 16 hours a day for the last three years to make Bostyfields an epic place for all dogs, and not forgetting our own. He greeted customers, monitored all the bookings and fixed everything when it broke (all the sodding time)
Dave had just completed building Dogwarts and he and I were planning the next twenty years together. Dave sadly passed away 20/05/23 very suddenly. His passing has been a huge shock for everyone, he certainly didn't deserve this.
He was a rally driver, a jet skier, a triathlete, a marathoner, a rock climber, a squash player, a top friend, a daredevil, a food lover, a delight, a great wit, a kind man and most of all loved beyond measure. #doneitalldave
In his memory we are raising money for a great send off and we'd like to donate also to his favourite dog rescues in honour of his amazing life.
Thank you
