In Memory of Mootoo: Your Help Matters

Hello, everyone. It makes my heart sink even having to make this. Unfortunately, my uncle Mootoo took his own life, and we’re not sure what exact day it was. We were gone for the weekend, and we came home and unfortunately found him gone. On Monday, September 9th, our family was heartbroken with this devastating tragedy.

If you knew Mootoo, you know he had the most beautiful smile. He was so funny and made you laugh until your stomach hurt. He was one of the kindest souls you could come across. He was definitely always making a joke, and that’s what we all loved about him.

In honor of Suicide Prevention Month, I want to honor him and anyone else who unfortunately took their own life. It’s devastating because he never gave any sign of ever harming himself. This definitely broke the family's heart, and my two baby cousins loved him so deeply, and now they won’t be able to play with him ever again. None of us will ever be able to hear his contagious laugh or see his bright, loving smile. He will be deeply missed, and this was the most unexpected thing to have happened.

Please don’t confuse the celebration of life that we are trying to have with his final arrangements by his family, these funds are not going towards a funeral. The purpose of this go fund me is to help us create a casual meeting place and time so we can all enjoy memories of mootoo. For people that want to celebrate his life. This is something we are doing on our own, to give love and support to all his friends and family that are grieving and missing him. So, still be looking out for some kind of details about his final arrangements, that will be given out by his mother.

This is just for the celebration of his life, this will be a casual get together setting. We have not chose where or when yet.
