Hi, my name is Cris D (CriCri) and as a member of the Kutak Rock family, I started this memorial fundraiser to help honor the life and legacy of Monique Gomez - 9/5/1990 - 02/25/2023 who was taken far too soon. Parents should never have to bury a child and it is my hope that the funds raised through this fundraiser can provide some small assistance to the Gomez family as they make memorial arrangements with the most heaviest of hearts for their most beloved daughter, Monique.

Monique Gomez was born and raised in Southern CA by her loving parents Virginia and Manny Gomez. Born of love, it is not surprising that Monique loved her family, friends and all those she encountered. Monique was a hard worker and always strived to improve herself and her community. In recognition of her extraordinary beautiful heart and mind, in 2008 she was crowned Miss La Habra.

Monique graduated high school from Sonora High School in 2008, and later attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas for a few years. While living in Las Vegas, she started her own family by adopting fur babies Bear and Ninja as she continued to pursue her studies geared in helping others in her community. No matter what challenges she encountered, she handled herself with grace and dignity.

Like all of us, Monique was dealt some curveballs. In 2022, she was diagnosed with Epilepsy. But Monique was not one to let her personal health challenges slow her down so she continued to press forward with her studies and work. Eventually, she relocated back to La Habra, CA to once again reside with her parents Virginia and Manny Gomez. With the support and love of her parents, and the addition of Buddy to her fur baby family, Monique continued with her education and became a certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, Martinson College (Class of 2022). Despite achieving her educational goals, Monique continued to do good deeds in her community with a fierce determination and selflessness to help make the world a better place.

Monique Gomez, 32 years old, of La Habra, California, passed away on February 25, 2023. Monique was a beloved daughter, the sweetest sister, the coolest auntie and cousin, and a loyal best friend to all. Monique was an extraordinary force that graced this earth for a far too short period of time. Her indelible beauty and kindness has left us all weeping as we hold her in our fond memories, which will inevitably leave us all to live and miss her more and more each day.

At the time of Monique’s passing, her mother Virginia was planning to enjoy more time with her husband and Monique. Sadly, Monique’s passing happened approximately 1 month before Virginia was set to retire from the Kutak Rock family after working with us for 16 years. The goal of this fundraiser is to hopefully provide some small measure of assistance to Monique’s family during this difficult time.
