We are saddened to announce the passing of yet another strong Sanchez woman. Julia P. Sanchez, or for so many of you who knew and loved her as "Moggie," passed away on Wednesday, 2/2/22 after complications with Covid. Unfortunately, due to the debilitating and progressive muscle disease, Polymyositis, that our mom, aka Moggie, battled for decades, it was extremely difficult to obtain sufficient life insurance.
If you knew “Julia, Mom or Moggie,” she never made her disease an excuse!
Throughout her years, she had a difficult time walking long distances, going down stairs, standing up, and eventually swallowing her food. BUT it never stopped her.
She loved thrift store shopping, going to the movie theater and the hallmark channel, attending youth through high school sport games for Adriana and Jalen, cheerleading competitions from competitive to high school for Angelica and Marina for 15 years, watching college and pro basketball and football during retirement (and had her favorite player on teams she loved), and cherished her every weekend Andre came by to spend with her. She’d let him do anything, no rules, just like grandmas do. Her time spend with little Eva was deeply cherished. ❤️
It's no coincidence her passing date was an angel number, because she was truly an angel here on earth to so many! Her kind and quiet domineer instantly made people feel welcome. But once she reeled you in with her humor and carefree spirit, she made you instantly love her. She opened her heart and home to so many kiddos, that by the end Moggie had well over 200 "mijas" and "mijos."
She gave every ounce of energy she had to her kids and her grandkids. She was the biggest cheerleader, best friend, and confidant to her entire family. She may not have been able to walk well or drive, but she made sure to always be there.
Every event for every child, she was always there.
Our Moggie was a woman of immense strength and endless love. Please consider helping the Sanchez family give her the honorary send off she so deeply deserves.
Her celebration of life will be February 26, 2022. Formal funeral location will be announced shortly.
Love,
