In Memory of Mike Swanson

On Wednesday, December 21st, only 4 days before Christmas, Mike Swanson passed away after battling cancer for 2 and a half years.  He was only 32 years old and left behind his wife, Erin, daughter, Chloe (4), and son, Caleb (3).  Mike was a Youth Pastor at Calvary Chapel East Anaheim and a dearly beloved member of the community.

Mike suffered from appendiceal cancer, which is extremely rare and difficult to treat.  He and his family had to endure many surgeries, appointments, insurance companies, etc.  Through it all though, Mike praised the Lord who created Him and was always positive & still pouring into other people’s lives.  For example, Mike lost over 100 pounds as a result of his body rejecting food, but still would preach, teach, and love people with everything he had.  If you had the honor of meeting Mike, you know what a wonderful human being he was.  And if you didn’t get that chance, I hope this video below will touch you and show you what an amazing man he was.
