Light up the sky for Mike Sardo
Sadly on July 2nd Mike Sardo lost his courageous battle. Mike was a gentle giant on and off the field. He fought hard for so long as he knew he had much to fight for - Kathleen, Darrion and Sedric and the rest of his family. Mike cherished seemingly small moments - date nights with Kathleen, coaching his sons' teams, throwing a football with his boys in front of their home, watching a baseball game with his parents and sister. He worked hard for many years at the FBI to provide for his family. He was proud of his family and grateful for life’s simple moments. Reality is the medical support to help him fight back cost a lot, particularly these last two years. Insurance did not cover the level of care he needed. Many of you have reached out about arrangements and how you can help. A celebration of his life is in the works, most likely in the fall...more to follow at a later date. In the meantime, we ask that you show Mike how loud the CU family roars when someone needs us. Please consider contributing to this page to help Mike’s family with his recent medical expenses. If any funds remain after the medical expenses, they will be set aside for Darrion and Sedric's education.
"Friends are like stars… you don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there." Let’s light up the sky for Mike.
On behalf of his family, we hope to get to thank you in person at the celebration of his life. Until then, thank you, be well and live, love and laugh often.
