In Memory of Mike Lewis: Support His Loved Ones

My name is Charles Bookman. I had the pleasure of working with Michael Lewis for over two years. Although Mike had been on campus for over twenty years, I had never met him before.

What immediately stood out was his passion and willingness to help others. Mike would go out of his way to help his coworkers and the users he supported, and you could tell he loved his job. If any of his coworkers had any technical questions, he would happily share his knowledge without judgment.

Mike was generous, kind, and funny. I'm told he was pretty talented behind the guitar, though I never heard him play. He would actively deny his ability, but you could tell he enjoyed music. I always teased him about his unicycle, but he owned his dorkiness outright.

Mike was tragically hit by a farm tractor while bicycling on his way to work. It wasn't his usual day to come into the office, but he wanted to help. It was his nature to help.

I want to raise money to help his family with any expenses regarding his passing. I miss him; he was one of the good ones.
