Help the Burnham Family After the Sudden Loss of Mike (Bmikles) Burnham
On July 9th, 2025, Michael “Bmikles” Burnham, passed away suddenly while on a long-awaited dream trip to Greece. He and his beloved wife had just finished fighting—and beating—cancer, and this was their “F*** You, Cancer” victory trip. They had only been there five days when tragedy struck.
Mike was just 58. After 2.5 years of both of them courageously battling cancer, this trip was meant to be a celebration of their strength, their survival, and their love. They were soulmates—but even that word doesn’t do justice to what they were to each other. Together since high school, they raised two incredible sons, Shawn and Chris, and never once wavered in their love, partnership, or devotion.
Mike grew up in West Babylon, Long Island, NY, and went on to attend Ohio Diesel Tech after high school. He was proud of his work—always clean, organized, and meticulous. A man of high standards, he believed in doing things the right way, and you’d never catch him with a dirty tool or a messy workspace.
Family was everything to Mike. He was a proud brother to Larry, Timmy, Shannon, and to Pat and Pam who passed before him. And friendship? Mike defined what it meant to be a friend. I met him in second grade, and along with Jamie (and Tom Corcoran until 8th grade), we’ve been as close as brothers ever since. He was also a founding member of our high school friend group, “The Body Shop,” and the memories we’ve shared are endless and priceless.
Mike had a personality like no other—always real, always himself, never pretending to be anything else. He was tough, like his father Poppa B, but he had one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known. If you needed help, he’d drop everything and be there without hesitation. That’s just who he was.
The “Bmikleisms” are legendary—his classic sayings like:
“May all your ups and downs be between the sheets”
“My ass I am off!”
“A stack of pancakes yo high, strawberry cheesecake, and keep the coffee coming sweetheart”
These lines—and many more—will live on forever with everyone who loved him.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help Mike’s family navigate the sudden and devastating loss of a husband, father, brother, and best friend. If you can find it in your heart to contribute, any amount would be deeply appreciated.
We love you, Mike. You will never be forgotten. Rest easy, brother.
