Queridos amigos y familiares:

Hoy, nuestros corazones están profundamente afligidos por la pérdida de Miguel, nuestro amado padre, abuelo y esposo. Por mucha tristeza que sintamos por su fallecimiento, estamos aún más agradecidos por el tiempo que nos fue concedido y por la increíble vida que vivió: una vida de sacrificio, perseverancia y servicio.

En su niñez, dejó sus estudios para trabajar y apoyar a su madre y a su hermano menor. Finalmente, dejó su pueblo querido para emigrar a una nueva tierra y brindar la mejor vida posible a su familia. Gracias a su trabajo incansable y diligente, pudo cuidar no solo de su esposa e hijos, sino también de otros familiares necesitados, ofreciendo su hogar como refugio para muchos a lo largo de los años.

Aunque a menudo mostraba una apariencia fría y seria, quienes lo conocían íntimamente sabían que, debajo de esa fachada de fortaleza, se escondía un ingenio inigualable, una sabiduría forjada en las pruebas de la vida y un amor incontenible que se manifestaba cuando abría su corazón. Sus seres queridos (principalmente su esposa, hijos y nietos) son testigos vivos de todo esto.

Pero más admirable que todos sus logros terrenales es esto: que eligió humillarse y esforzarse por seguir la voluntad de Dios lo mejor que pudo. El salmista nos dice: «Mi sacrificio, oh Dios, es un espíritu quebrantado; un corazón contrito y humillado» (Salmo 51:17). Miguel hizo ese sacrificio, especialmente en sus últimos años, cuando, a pesar de innumerables enfermedades físicas que habrían doblegado a la mayoría de los hombres, nunca perdió la fe en nuestro Señor y en sus promesas.

Con esta misma fe, encomendamos ahora el alma de Miguel a nuestro Padre Celestial. Oramos para que, por la gracia de Dios, haya encontrado la paz y que volvamos a verlo al final de los tiempos.

Dear Friends and Family,

Today, our hearts are deeply grieved by the loss of Miguel, our loving husband, father, and grandfather. As sad as we are at his passing, we are even more grateful for the time he was given and the incredible life he lived - a life of sacrifice, perseverance, and service.

In his early childhood, he left his schooling to work to support his mother and younger brother. He eventually left his home with nothing for a new land to provide the best possible life for his family. Through his tireless and diligent work, he was able to care not only for his wife and children, but also for other relatives who were in need - offering his home as a refuge for many throughout the years.

Though he often presented a cold and stern exterior, those who knew him intimately were aware that beneath his tough facade was a wit unmatched by any comedian, wisdom hard-earned from the trials of life, and a love that could not be contained once he chose to open his heart to you. The loved ones he leaves behind (principally his wife, children, and grandchildren) are living witnesses to all of this.

But more admirable than all his worldly achievements is this - that he chose to humble himself and to strive to follow the will of God as best he could. The psalmist tells us,“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken sprit; a broken and contrite heart” (Ps 51:17). Miguel made that sacrifice, especially in his final years when, despite countless physical illnesses that would have broken most other men, he never lost faith in our Lord and his promises.

It is with this same faith that we now entrust the care of Miguel’s soul to our Heavenly Father. We pray that, by the grace of God, he has found peace, and that we will see him again at the end of the age.
