In Loving Memory of Michael Nelson Jr.

It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michael Nelson Jr., just 13 years old.

Michael Jr. was the beloved son of Michael Nelson Sr. and Daisey Perry, both devoted and respected employees of Louisiana State University (LSU) in the Building Services Department. Their dedication to the LSU community has touched so many, and now they are facing every parent's worst nightmare — the sudden loss of their precious child.

As their friends, colleagues, and community, we are reaching out and asking for your support during this incredibly painful time. We are accepting donations to help cover the cost of Michael Jr.’s home-going service. Every contribution will go directly toward the funeral arrangements and other necessary expenses as the family navigates this heartbreaking loss.

This is more than a tragedy — it’s a call to our Baton Rouge family, our LSU family, and all of our surrounding communities and friends. Let’s come together, as we’ve always done, in love, unity, and support. Let’s uplift this grieving family and remind them that they are not alone.
