In Memory Of Michael John Smith
My brother was a Legend ... stop any original Doverite and ask them about Mike Smith ... or Smeet ... and I bet they have a funny story!
Michael was also a devoted husband, father, proud son, loving brother ... andfriend to everyone who crossed his path. His devotion to carrying on our family traditions evident in his every day pictures of the life of a fisherman. The stunning sun rises, the blue skies ... the waves ... his talk of the elusive smelt ... he had a fierce loyalty to his craft that’s for sure!
Our hearts have been shattered, our worlds turned up side down ... Our Michael is gone ... Lost to the craft he devoted his life to ... Lost to the waters he lived for ... we all wait anxiously for the lake to give him back to us ... great efforts are being taken to find him butwe all know that the lake will give him
back when it’s ready ...
I am asking for help from my brothersfriends ... from those who shared goodtimes and bad ... from those who shared a few laughs with Michael or tears or have fun memories of him ... to helphis family in this time of terrible loss ...
From all of us to all of you, I give my most sincerest thank you for all of your kindness ... Port Dover has really come through for us ...
