On the morning of March 14, 2026, I woke up to the sound of my husband, Michael, struggling to breathe. I immediately called 911 and held him in my arms, trying to keep him conscious while telling him how much I loved him.
On the way to the hospital, he went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance and again in the emergency room. At that time, they checked his brain function and did not see any immediate signs of neurological problems. However, doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs and had to perform immediate surgery to remove them.
Hours after the surgery, they checked his brain function again and discovered that he had suffered severe brain damage. They are not sure if it was due to the lack of oxygen when his heart stopped or from a stroke.
Michael was only 38 years old and the love of my life. He had previously suffered a stroke in 2020 that left him in a wheelchair, but he remained a fighter up until his very last day.
This loss was completely unexpected. Any amount you are able to give will help with medical expenses, funeral arrangements, and getting through this incredibly difficult time. Your support, prayers, and shares mean more than I can put into words.
