In Memory of Mia Carvalho

After a long and brave two year battle with cancer, Mia Carvalho passed away on the morning of April 1st , 2020, at the age of 3 and a half.  Mia was first diagnosed at the age of 18 months with a Germ Cell Tumor in her mediastinum, which spread to her brain and spine. Her treatment included multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation.

Mia was a sweet, funny, loveable little girl who faced her life’s many challenges with a courageous smile and a grace that was beyond her years.  She was bright and articulate, loved to sing and dance and had a zest for life that was infectious. She will be missed immensely.

This campaign has been started as a way for those who have been touched by Mia’s life and story, to show their love and support for her parents Melanie and Mike.  The proceeds raised from this campaign will ease the burden of funeral costs and provide financial support during this difficult transitional time.

A memorial in honour of Mia will be held at an undetermined future date when we will all be able to gather.
